Ingredients

Yields 12 Servings
Donuts
  • 1.5 c. apple cider
  • 1 egg, large
  • 1/4 c. Firebee Apple Pie Honey
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. apple pie spice
Spiced Sugar Topping
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp. apple pie spice
  • 1/2 c. butter, melted

Instructions

Step 1

Pour the cider into a nonstick saucepan and heat to medium until it's reduced to about 1/3 cup. It will thicken in about 20 minutes. While this is reducing, preheat your oven to 350 degrees spray your donut pans with non-stick spray and set aside.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients for the donuts, including the reduced apple cider. Mix until smooth, but don't overmix.

Step 3

Add the donut batter into a large ziplock bag and cut off the corner. Pipe into the donut pans and bake for 10 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Step 4

While the donuts are baking, go ahead and mix together the spiced sugar mixture and melt the butter.

Step 5

Dip the donuts into the butter and then roll them in the spiced sugar mixture and plate.

Step 6

Serve warm or cool and enjoy!
