Bread Bowls
Honestly, we could eat these bread bowls by themselves - who needs soup??
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. water, warm
- 2 Tbsp. yeast
- 1 Tbsp. Firebee Raw Honey
- 3 1/2 - 4 1/2 c. bread flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. butter
Instructions
Step 1
Mix together the warm water, yeast, and sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer. Let it rest for about 5 minutes or until the yeast has dissolved and is bubbly.
Step 2
Add in 3 1/2 cups of flour and the salt and mix together. Add in the remaining cup of flour, a bit at a time, until the dough comes together and is not overly sticky. You may not use all of the extra flour.
Step 3
Knead the dough on medium for about 8-10 minutes or until it is smooth and elastic. Cover and allow it to rise for about 30 minutes.
Step 4
Divide the dough into 4 pieces and roll each into a ball. Place on a greased baking sheet and brush each with water. Cover and let them rise again for another 15 minutes.
Step 5
Bake at 500 degrees for 2 minutes and then brush again with water. Lower the heat to 400 degrees and bake for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
Step 6
While they are still warm, brush them with butter and allow them to cool enough to cut off the top and scoop out the center. Serve the top and center of the bread bowl with the soup for dipping.
