Cajun Meatloaf

Cajun Meatloaf

A hot and spicy take on a classic dinner! 


Yields 8 Servings
  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 3/4 c. oatmeal
  • 2/3 c. ketchup
  • 2 eggs 
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tsp. brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Forni-Cajun Seasoning
  • 1 tsp. dijon mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. Firebee Spicy Honey
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 8 slices thick cut bacon
Cajun BBQ Sauce
  • 1 c. ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. orange juice
  • 1 tsp. Forni-Cajun Seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. molasses
  • 1/4 tsp. salt


Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In a medium skillet, saute the diced onion and peppers until softened. 

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the softened onions and peppers with the ground beef, oatmeal, ketchup, eggs, worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, Forni-Cajun Seasoning, dijon mustard, Firebee Spicy Honey, and salt.

Step 3

Place the ground beef mixture into a 9" x 13" pan and shape into a loaf. 

Step 4

To make the BBQ Sauce, combine the ingredients together until smooth. Spread about 3/4 of it over the meatloaf. 

Step 5

Cover the meatloaf with the bacon strips, tucking any extra underneath. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes. 

Step 6

Brush with remaining BBQ Sauce and bake for an additional 30-45 minutes or until a meat thermometer reads 165 degrees. Allow it to rest 5-10 minutes before slicing.
