Cinnamon Sugar Knots

A delicious and easy baked treat - great for breakfast, dessert, or whenever! 


Yields 12 Servings
  • 2 1/2 - 3 c. flour
  • 1 packet of instant yeast
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. warm milk
  • 2 tsp. Firebee Cinnamon Honey
  • 7 Tbsp. salted butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 3 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar


Step 1

In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, combine 2 1/2 cups of flour, yeast, and salt. Add in the warmed milk, Firebee Cinnamon Honey, and 1 tablespoon of butter. Using medium speed, run the mixer until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl and is smooth.

Step 2

Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes to an hour. 

When you're ready, preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 3

In a small bowl, combine the 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and the 3 teaspoons of cinnamon. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, add 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 2 teaspoons and set aside.

Step 4

On a floured surface, roll the dough out into a rectangle that is about 1/4" thick. Add additional flour if necessary.

Step 5

Spread the butter over the dough and then sprinkle with the cinnamon and sugar mixture. 

Fold the dough in half and cut into 12 equal size strips.

Step 6

Take each strip and twist it, then fold it up into a loose know. Place on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 7

Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and mix into the brown sugar mixture to make a crumble. Sprinkle onto the top of the knots.

Step 8

Bake for 20 minutes and allow to cool before serving. They are great served warm!
