German Chocolate Pie

All you love about German Chocolate Cake - but in a pie! 


Yields 8 servings

  • 1 refrigerated pie crust
  • 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 c. Firebee Chocolate Honey
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • pinch of salt
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 c. coconut flakes, sweetened
  • 1 1/2 c. pecans, chopped


Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.  Place the pie crust in a 9 inch pie plate and crimp the edges.

Step 2

In a saucepan, heat the chocolate chips and butter over medium-low heat until smooth, stirring constantly.

Step 3

Remove the mixture from the heat once it's melted and slowly whisk in the evaporated milk. 

Step 4

In a medium bowl, mix together the egg yolks, vanilla, and almond extract. Slowly whisk in the chocolate mixture until smooth.

Step 5

Next, add in the Firebee Chocolate Honey, cornstarch, and salt. Once combined, pour into the prepared pie shell.

Step 6

Mix the coconut and pecans together and sprinkle over the top of the pie. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the pie puffs up and is almost set. Cool completely and serve!
