Honey Butter Jalapeno Rolls

I think we can all agree that carbs are delicious and these sweet and spicy rolls are just the thing for your next meal!

Ingredients

Yields 12 servings
Rolls
  • 3 1/2 - 4 c. flour
  • 1 packet rapid rise yeast
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. grated cheddar cheese
  • 1-2 jalapenos, diced
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. Firebee Spicy Honey
  • 4 Tbsp. butter, room temperature
  • 1 large egg
Honey Butter
  • 6 Tbsp. butter, room temperature
  • 3 Tbsp. Firebee Spicy Honey
  • sea salt, pinch

Instructions

Step 1

In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the flour, yeast, and salt. Add the cheese and diced jalapenos, mixing together gently.

Step 2

Warm the milk to about 110-115 degrees and add it, along with 3 Tbsp. Firebee Spicy Honey, the egg, and 4 Tbsp. of butter to the mixer bowl. 

Step 3

Using the dough hook, mix for about 5 minutes, until the flour is incorporated. If the dough seems sticky, add additional flour. Cover and let it set for about 30 minutes.

Step 4

Make the honey butter by combining the remaining butter, Firebee Spicy Honey, and a pinch of salt together.

Step 5

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9" x 9" square baking dish while your dough rests.

Step 6

Punch down the dough, and then on a floured surface, turn it out. Cut the dough in half and roll each into a 12 inch square, about 1/4" thick.

Step 7

Brush each square with the honey butter, saving any leftovers for serving. 

Step 8

Cut each square of dough into 6 strips and roll each of them into a coil. Arrange them seam side down in the prepared pan. Allow them to rise an additional 30 minutes.

Step 9

Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown. Brush with any remaining honey butter and enjoy warm!
