Oreo Cinnamon Rolls

Roll in the New Year with these rich, chocolatey cinnamon rolls made with the amazing tastes of Firebee Chocolate Honey and Oreos! 

Ingredients

Yields 9 Servings
Cinnamon Roll Dough
  • 3 1/2 c. all purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant dry yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. whole milk
  • 1/2 c. Firebee Chocolate Honey
  • 1.4 c. unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1/2 c. crushed Oreos
Filling
  • 1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 c. unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. crushed Oreos
Vanilla Glaze
  • 1 Tbsp. unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. whole milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1

In a medium sized bowl, mix together 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of cocoa, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and set aside.

Step 2

Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large microwave safe bowl, combine 3 1/2 cups of flour, the packet of instant yeast, and the salt. 

Step 3

In a separate bowl, add 1 cup milk, 1/4 c. butter, and 1/2 c. Firebee Chocolate Honey into a microwave safe bowl. Heat on high power for 60-90 seconds until the mixture is warm to the touch and the butter is melted. Stir to combine.

Step 4

Gradually add the warm milk mixture into the flour mixture and mix until the dough comes together. 

Step 5

Add in the egg and mix on low speed until a sticky dough ball forms. Continue to mix for 2-3 minutes until the dough becomes more elastic.

Step 6

As the dough mixes, add in additional flour 1 tablespoon at a time if needed until it leaves the sides of the bowl. After your dough is ready, mix in 1/2 cup of crushed Oreos until incorporated.

Step 7

Cover your bowl with plastic wrap and let sit for 10 minutes. Generously flour your counter and roll your dough ball into a large rectangle that's 12" x 18". It should be about 1/2" thick.

Step 8

Spread 1/4 cup of butter over the dough, leaving 1/2" uncovered along the long side of the rectangle. Sprinkle the cinnamon roll filling you made up first thing evenly over the buttered surface. Top with crushed Oreos.

Step 9

Tightly roll up the dough horizontally toward the uncovered strip. Cut the dough log into 9 equal pieces with a sharp knife and place into a greased square pan. (8" x 8")

Step 10

Turn off the oven and cover the cinnamon rolls with foil. Place into the oven for 30 minutes or until they have risen. Remove from the oven and uncover. Raise the heat to 350 degrees.

Step 11

Once the oven has preheated to 350, bake for 26-30 minutes or until the rolls are gold brown. Rotate halfway through for even heating. 

Step 12

Mix all the glaze ingredients together until smooth in a medium bowl and pour over warm rolls.
