Slow Cooker Cajun Chicken Pasta
This dish is super spicy, but so delicious! Throw it all in the crock pot in the morning and come back later to remove the chicken and add the noodles - how easy is that?
Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 lb. smoked sausage
- 3 c. heavy cream
- 4 c. chicken broth
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 3 Tbsp. Forni-Cajun Seasoning (add less if you don't want it as spicy)
- 2 tsp. minced garlic
- 16 oz. uncooked penne pasta
- 8 oz. shredded parmesan cheese
- salt and pepper
- garlic powder
Instructions
Step 1
Pat the chicken breasts dry and then season them with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sear them over medium to high heat in the oil for about 3-4 minutes per side.
Step 2
In a crock pot, add the sliced up sausage, heavy cream, chicken stock, garlic, butter, and Forni-Cajun seasoning. Place the chicken breasts on top and cover.
Step 3
Cook on low for about 3 hours (until chicken reaches 165 degrees) and remove the chicken. Allow the chicken to rest while you add in the penne pasta and recover the crock pot.
Step 4
Slice up the chicken and cover with foil until the pasta is cooked - about 30 minutes.
Step 5
Stir the pasta a couple of times and once it is cooked, add in the parmesan cheese.
Step 6
Serve the pasta with the chicken sliced up over it and enjoy!
