Spicy Broccoli & Cheese Soup
Soup season is the best season! Firebee Honey adds some spice to a comforting seasonal favorite!
Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tsp. P.H.A.T. Seasoning
- 3 c. carrots, shredded
- 1/3 c. flour
- 4 c. chicken broth
- 1/4 c. Firebee Spicy Honey
- 1 lb. broccoli, chopped
- 1 qt. half & half
- 24 oz. cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
Step 1
In a large soup pot, melt the butter and add the diced onion. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 7-8 minutes.
Step 2
Add in the garlic, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes or until it is fragrant. Add in your carrots and P.H.A.T. seasoning, allowing the carrots to cook for about 5 minutes.
Step 3
Add in the flour and continue cooking for another 5 minutes to allow the flour time to cook through. Add in the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer.
Step 4
Once the chicken broth is simmering, add in the broccoli and Firebee Honey. Cook for an additional 10 minutes to allow the broccoli to soften.
Step 5
Add in the half and half and return to a simmer. Turn off the heat and add in the cheese. Stir to combine and allow the cheese to melt.
Step 6
Serve by itself or in a bread bowl if you want to be extra fancy!
