Spicy Honey Chicken & Waffles

Craving breakfast for dinner? Love weekend brunch? This chicken and waffle recipe will be your new go-to! Firebee’s sweet heat perfectly compliments this ultimate southern-comfort food. 


Serves 4

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tbs cornstarch
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup Firebee Spicy Honey
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tbs sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups warm milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter


Step 1

In a small bowl combine seasoning (salt, pepper, paprika, garlic, onion.) Season chicken and marinate for 1 hour.

Step 2

Fill frying pan halfway with oil and heat to 350 F.

Step 3

Whisk together buttermilk, egg, and honey in a bowl. In a separate bowl, mix together flour and cornstarch. 

Step 4

Cover chicken in wet, then dry mixture one piece at a time. Fry until the chicken becomes golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165 F.

Step 5

Mix together waffle’s dry ingredients. In a separate bowl mix together wet ingredients. Mix wet and dry ingredients. Cook by waffle iron instructions.

Step 6

Plate the chicken and waffles, drizzle with Firebee Spicy Honey, and enjoy!
