Step 1

Add 2 cups of flour and salt to the bowl of a stand mixer with the dough hook attachment.

Step 2

In a small saucepan, heat the water, milk, butter, and Firebee Spicy Honey over medium heat. The temperature should be around 110-115 degrees. If it gets too warm, allow it to cool before adding the yeast packet. Stir in until mixed and allow to sit for around 5 minutes until foamy.

Step 3

Add the yeast mixture to the flour and salt and then stir in the egg. Mix until well combined. Add the remaining flour as needed until a soft dough forms in the center of the bowl. 

Step 4

Lightly knead the dough on a floured surface for a few minutes and then allow it to rise for about an hour in a warm place. 

Step 5

Punch the dough down after it has risen and return it to the mixer. Add the diced jalapeños and cheese and mix until everything is combined together. 

Step 6

Spread the dough out with your hands until it has formed a rectangle, about 10" x 14". Starting about two inches from the top, cut the dough down the center.

Step 7

Twist the two pieces together into a sort of braid. Place the dough into a greased loaf pan and cover with a towel. Allow to rise again for about 30 minutes. 

Step 8

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and bake for about 40 minutes.
